Is the $30,000 threshold per year?
CRA measures it over four consecutive calendar quarters, and separately within a single calendar quarter — not by calendar year.
If Etsy collects GST/HST, do I still need to register?
Etsy says Canadian tax regulation requires sellers to register for a GST/HST ID and collect and remit the tax once they reach $30,000 CAD in sales; sellers below it should decide for themselves.
When do platforms have to send me my reported information?
CRA guidance says reporting platform operators must provide each reportable seller with the information reported about them by January 31 of the year following the calendar year in which the seller is reportable.
When is the 2026 tax return due for self-employed Etsy sellers?
CRA lists June 15, 2027 as the filing deadline for self-employed individuals, but any balance owing must be paid by April 30, 2027.
